Tell a behavioral story with STAR
Most weak behavioral answers spend a minute on the project and ten seconds on the candidate. STAR fixes the proportions.

Choose a story with a decision you can explain
Pick a real event where you made a decision and can explain the outcome. A project can have impressive technology and still make a weak interview story if your own contribution is unclear. Start with the part you personally changed, then add the context the listener needs to understand why it mattered.
Write down what you knew at the time, the options you considered and why you chose one. If a release slipped, describe the warning you saw and the action you took. Keep the result accurate. When you lack a measured outcome, describe what changed and what you learned without inventing a number.
